Silverdale

Silverdale, located in the center of the Kitsap Peninsula, began as a logging and farming town in the 1850’s and Old Town Silverdale still has some its charming original buildings. With microbreweries, numerous restaurants, hotels, two malls, a new YMCA and all of the amenities of a small city, Silverdale is a hub of activity for North and Central Kitsap. The new Clear Creek Trail has a skate park, a dog park and 8.4 miles of paved and unpaved trail—a surprisingly lovely oasis located in the middle of a busy commercial area. The Harrison Medical Center is going through a significant campus expansion and by 2020 will be providing state of the art, comprehensive healthcare services to the entire peninsula community.

Activities

Between the mall and the countless shops, award winning breweries, restaurants and movie theaters there is something for everyone.

Silverdale attracts a lot of shoppers from all over Kitsap County. Two of the largest hotels in the County are located on Silverdale’s stunning Dye’s Inlet. The new Haselwood Family YMCA has more than 18,500 active members and offers more than 270 weekly group classes in addition to swim lessons. The Waterfront Park and Clear Creek Trail see a lot of activity. Whaling Days, an annual local festival hosted in July, features food vendors, carnival rides, main stage entertainment and fireworks.
